📍 Kibera, Nairobi | 📅 21st April 2025
On the vibrant morning of April 21st, 2025, something truly special happened in Kibera. Under the warm banner of our Imarisha Dada Initiative, we gathered with a group of determined women, community mothers with bold hearts, ready to change the trajectory of their families’ futures.
Among them was one particularly radiant mother who began the day sharing her hopes for the workshop. With honest anticipation, she spoke of her dream to build a better life for her children. By the end of the day, that dream had taken its first tangible step forward—her hands were busy kneading dough, her smile wide as she proudly participated in our baking class.
Her enthusiasm lit up the room. Her voice, filled with gratitude and determination, echoed our mission: to empower the whole family, not just the child. Because at Etsirbella Scholarship, we believe empowered parents must nurture empowered children.
This wasn’t just a baking session. It was a launchpad for dignity and economic independence. It was a step toward sustainability. There was also a chance for the women to learn to build beauty ornaments, small-scale vegetable growing, etc. Each woman left not only with new skills, but also with renewed confidence, ready to turn knowledge into income and kitchens into opportunities.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to every donor, volunteer, facilitator, and supporter who made this day possible. Because of you, these women can now take one more step toward stability, and their children can grow up witnessing what empowered motherhood truly looks like.
Together, we’re breaking generational barriers, one skill at a time.
