ABOUT US

Welcome to Etsirbella Scholarship

At Etsirbella Scholarship, our mission is clear: to ensure that underprivileged children—especially those living in the informal settlements of Kibera, Nairobi—have access to quality, consistent, and dignified education. Founded in 2018, our work is rooted in the belief that education is the most powerful tool to break the cycle of poverty, and that true impact begins with investing in a child’s future.

We don’t just send children to school—we walk the journey with them. From scholarships and school meals to hygiene support, family visits, mentorship, and community empowerment, our approach is holistic and grounded in compassion.

To sustain this life-changing work, we operate Etsirbella Designs, a social enterprise that produces handmade fashion accessories and crafts. Every item sold helps fund our scholarship program, enabling more children to learn, grow, and thrive.

When you support Etsirbella—whether through sponsorship, donations, or by purchasing our designs—you become part of a bigger story: a movement that’s rebuilding futures, one child at a time.

FOUNDER'S WORD

A Message from Our Founder

When I founded Etsirbella Scholarship in 2024, my heart was heavy with the stories of children in Kibera I had taught and walked with children who longed to go to school but couldn’t afford it. As an educator and community servant, I knew I couldn’t just keep watching the cycle of poverty repeat itself. I had to do something.

Etsirbella Scholarship was born from that place of urgency, love, and deep conviction. Our goal has always been simple: make education accessible and consistent for the children who need it most. But over time, the work has grown. We realized that to keep a child in school, we must walk with the entire family  especially mothers. That’s why our work now includes family support, empowerment programs, and community outreach.

To help fund the mission, I decided to link Etsirbella Designs to the scholarship program. Every product we sell helps keep a child in class, fed, mentored, and growing.

I invite you to be part of this movement. Sponsor a child. Share our story. Buy from our shop. Together, we are not just giving children books and uniforms—we are restoring their right to dream.
